Construction Update 09/12/2024
We are excited to announce that we are nearing completion of the remodel at FAC West. As part of our remodel project, we have included other areas of FAC West to undergo a series of upgrades to make your experience even better! While we await equipment to be delivered for the new space, we will complete the final portion of the FAC West remodel. Included areas in the final phase are the lobby, locker rooms, and pool. These areas will be temporarily closed September 23 - October 13.
Our lobby will be receiving a stylish update to create a more inviting and modern atmosphere as soon as you walk through our doors. Whether you're catching up with friends or waiting for a class, we want the lobby to be a space where you can enjoy spending time. The locker rooms will receive brand-new lockers with locks, paint, new grout, and a deep cleaning, ensuring they are welcoming and pristine when they reopen. These improvements are part of our commitment to providing you with a top-notch environment that you can enjoy every time you visit. The pool deck will be professionally cleaned, and some maintenance items will be addressed in the pool area.
The cardio room, current weight room and Group Fitness rooms at FAC West will remain open during the closure of the lobby, locker rooms and pools. We have set a tentative Grand Opening date of October 13 for the remodeled areas of FAC West. This date is dependent upon completion of the planned work. Construction Update 08/26/2024
Some much better news for this update as we are pleased to let everyone know that the building process has been going very well the past few weeks. We are still dealing with some delivery delays, but none should cause a major delay in the completion of the project. The concrete sealing, mirror installation, diamond plate and barn door wood installation has all been finished. The bathroom and water fountains are complete, and the lighting fixtures are in place. This has given us the ability to expand our renovation to other parts of the club. We will reveal the details of that addition and the expected completion date to everyone shortly! Construction Update 07/30/2024
Some unfortunate news for this update as we regret to inform everyone that the remodel project has suffered a delay. Unfortunately, delivery of multiple different facets of the project has been delayed and thus our completion date has been moved back further than we expected. We are disappointed by this turn of events but are doing everything we can to make up time where we can. We will be taking advantage of this opportunity by improving other parts of the club that were originally not included in the project plans! We will be completing the installation of mirrors; the barn wood walls and some brick veneers in the weeks to come. We are now looking at a completion date for the entire project in mid to late September.
Construction Update 07/07/2024
The painting of both the first and second floor has been finished. Installation of the diamond plating will be completed within the next few days. Some of our brick veneers have been installed and look amazing. The new weight room bathroom will have its accessories installed by the end of this week or next. Going forward we will be installing all the mirrors; our barn wood walls for our recovery room that will help immensely with noise reduction and completing the final touches on the second-floor ceiling.
Construction Update 06/19/2024
The drywall installation and texturing process is finished for both the first and the second floor! The HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems installation process is almost completed and will be undergoing inspection soon. We will begin painting, adding bathroom fixtures, installing mirrors and applying our wallpapers within the weeks to come. All brand-new equipment from industry leaders such as Life Fitness, Precor, Matrix and more has been ordered and is scheduled to arrive on time.
Construction Update 06/02/2024
The framing of the first and second floor has been completed! We will begin to tape and texture as well as install all the drywall beginning this week. The HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems are still being completed, but we hope they will be finished and pass inspection within the next couple of weeks. We are excited to announce we will be adding an outdoor turf area to our first-floor functional training space! Members and guests can partake in outdoor workouts in this turf area which will be accessible from the functional training area.
Construction Update 05/16/2024
The second-floor concrete pour has passed inspection, and our stairway is in place! Framing of the first and second floor is nearing completion and we have begun to lay the groundwork for the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. In the coming weeks we are hoping to install windows and door frames as well as complete and pass inspection with the HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding during the entire process but we are so excited to share our hard work with you all!
Construction Update 04/25/2024
Our final support beams are in place and the structural flooring and insulation have been installed! The stairway connecting the first and second floors of the new weight room is currently in the process of being constructed. Once that is completed, the concrete for the second floor will be poured which we are hoping happens in the next few days. After framing the first and second floors and a few structural safety tests we will be moving onto beginning the HVAC, electrical and plumbing processes.
Construction Update 04/01/2024
After a delay in the delivery of our structural steel beams, we are happy to let everyone know that we have received our steel and are beginning to put the structural framing in place for our new weight room. After the structural framing is in place and passes a safety test, we will begin to pour the concrete for the second floor and build the stairway connecting the two floors. We are also hoping to add the insulation while this process takes place.
Construction Update 03/01/2024
Our concrete pour on the main level of our remodel project has passed the stress test! The next step will be placing structural support beams and outlining the vestibule for the second floor. In the month to come we are hoping to build the stairwell and pour the concrete for the second floor as well. If all goes well, we are hoping to begin some framing by the end of the month.
Construction Update 02/15/2024
The building phase of our remodel project has begun! Concrete was poured this week for the main level of the project. Once it has dried and passed a stress test, we will begin to put up the first structural beams of the new multi-floor weight room and recovery area. Construction Update 01/29/2024
The demolition phase of our remodel project has been completed! Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding throughout the process. We have obtained our building permit and will begin the building phase of the project this week. The building phase will be the longest portion of our project as we construct our new, state-of-the-art weight room and relaxation area.
Construction Update 01/11/2024
Demolition has been progressing extremely well over the past couple weeks! The demolition of Courts 3,4 and 5 is nearly complete and is one week ahead of schedule. We are hoping to move into the building phase of this portion of the remodel project next week. Our new "hallway" is the only way to access the weight room, cardio room and group fitness rooms. We appreciate everyone's patience and adaptability as we make these changes to continue to provide the best Flagstaff has to offer. Reminder that additional parking is available directly across the street from our West location.
Construction Update 12/27/2023
As many of you are aware, construction has begun in preparation for the demolition of Courts 4 & 5 as a part of our FAC West remodel project. This week or early next week, how to access the weight, cardio and group fitness rooms will change due to the construction of our new strength and recovery spaces. In the next few days, the hallway that leads to the cardio room, weight room and group fitness rooms will be closed. This includes the downstairs hallway that leads from our lobby and the upstairs hallway from our locker rooms and runs adjacent to Courts 3, 4, and 5. To access these areas going forward, a newly constructed "hallway" will be in place that begins from the lobby area adjacent Court 1 and leads to the cardio room. This will be the only way the weight room, cardio room and group fitness rooms can be accessed. The new hallway will be both heated and lighted to ensure a safe and comfortable route to enjoy those areas of our club. Access to the locker rooms, indoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi and patio area will remain unchanged. Thank you for your understanding as we work to improve our club and will continue to provide updates on the remodel project as it progresses.
Remodel Announcement 11/30/2023
After years of meticulous planning, we are thrilled to announce that we have successfully obtained a demolition permit for the remodeling project at FAC West. Courts 3, 4, and 5 are set to undergo a transformative conversion into a cutting-edge two-story strength training area and a dedicated recovery/relaxation room. Demolition is scheduled to begin in early to mid-December, and we will be providing regular updates on the progress through the FAC website and our social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook.
The redesigned space will feature a dynamic layout. The downstairs of the current Court 4 and 5 will house a functional strength training area, complete with a turf section and equipment such as power racks, slam balls, kettlebells, suspension training apparatus, sleds, plyo boxes, jump ropes, and more. Meanwhile, the upstairs of Courts 3, 4, and 5 will be transformed into a comprehensive strength training zone, containing equipment such as dumbbells, barbells, benches, free weights, cable machine, smith machine, squat rack, and other state-of-the-art equipment. The downstairs area of the current Court 3 will be transformed into an amazing space featuring massage chairs and a comfortable sitting area, complete with a welcoming fireplace.
Courts 1 and 2 will remain in the front desk/lobby area of FAC West, ensuring continuity in the facility's layout. Additionally, FAC East will continue to offer four courts along with the Gymnasium courts.
